There are 15,000-20,000 children/youth in foster care in Arizona every year. We support the families that support these vulnerable young people. Foster children may arrive at a new home with nothing but the clothes on their backs. This can be traumatic to the children, and presents a challenge to foster families, who need to quickly acquire the items these children and youth need.
We provide items needed to make a foster child feel welcome in their new home: clothes, shoes, toys & games, books, and more.
We provide support to the entire family, not just the child in foster care. We feel the best way to support the children who need our help is by supporting the needs of the whole family.
At-risk children may be in the foster care system, placed with relatives (kinship care), or adopted (frequently by their foster families). Jose's Closet is available to all foster, kinship, & adoptive families who care for these special children.

I'm interested in Volunteering.
I'm interested in Donating.
I have a question.
Our Resource Center provides foster, kinship, and adoptive families with clothing, toys, baby items, and more to help ease the financial burden of raising these special children.
We provide gently used donated items to foster/adoptive/kinship member families free of charge. Families are able to come to Jose's Closet to select needed items for each child in their home.
Raising kids is expensive, and we try to support those who are raising children not originally their own.
Jose was a cherished foster child whose dying wish was to not be forgotten. Our founder started Jose's Closet in memory of this special child who was gone too soon.
Knowing how challenging it can be to accept a new child into her home, she started Jose's Closet to help other foster families find the items they needed for the children who arrive in their homes with little to no belongings.
What began in a spare closet has greatly expanded - and we continue growing!
Jose was born on July 22, 1997 and became an angel on November 4, 2007.
We operate our Resource Center to provide needed items to our member families. Gently used clothing, shoes, toys, games, and more are available to every child in the home.
We accept donations of gently used goods, new gift items and school supplies, gift cards, and monetary donations to help keep our resource center stocked and operational.
Donate clothing and other items today!
